It is written in PHP, modelled after the concepts of Ruby on Rails, and distributed under the MIT License. I really like how the chapters are divided in ‘Time for action’ and ‘What just happened’. You start building working applications right away and after you are done, there’s a clear explanation of what you just built…perfect for a practical person like me. All in all, I would recommend this book to everyone who’s new to CakePHP because it’s a really good startup. The writing is easy-to-follow and very readable and the authors have done a good job anticipating the type of questions a beginner might have. All the modules have been explained in-depth which can help one master these applications. I can certainly say that this considerably reduced the time frame for learning them. I really love and appreciate the way they go the extra mile to put up the screenshots!!! Amazing…keep it up guys! I strongly recommend Packt titles.
